The Fitcode team is constantly listening for feedback from our users. One topic that comes up often is inseam and height.
First, let us dispel a common misconception. Many people think that inseam is always directly related to height. It can be true but is oftentimes not the case. For example, you may consider yourself tall, however, you could have a long torso and short legs. In this case, a regular inseam would be ideal for you. Because this is often the case, we like to give our users control so they can select the inseam that works best for them.
Fitcode lets you search for jeans by inseam in two different ways. The first (see above image) is by selecting “short inseam” or “tall inseam” under the Style filter. These filters will show you jeans that are either super long or shorter versions of the original style. Some of our favorite styles you can find by searching one of these filters are 7 For All Mankind’s Tailorless line and The Leggy from Paige. The second option (see below image) for finding the right inseam is to use the inseam filter which will show you inseam by inches.
There’s no doubt that choosing the right inseam is important—after all, it can prevent you from getting the dreaded high waters or taking an unnecessary trip to the seamstress to get your jeans hemmed.
We know shopping for the right inseam is a big pain point for many of you. We’ve heard your feedback and we’ll soon be adding in another question in our quiz that addresses inseam. Stay tuned for an even more personalized experience for your denim shopping needs. But in the meantime, don’t forget about those filters!
