Back to School: Look 3

Aug. 29, 2015
Back to School: Look 3

For our last back to school outfit, we decided to go with black, grey, and gold items. Because you can never have enough black in your wardrobe. These black distressed jeans are one of our favorite styles from J Brand. They’re also really stretchy and comfortable—a good pair for a casual look. We love graphic tees, like the one pictured above. Now for the backpack. The one we chose is from Rebecca Minkoff and it’s just as stylish as her purses. The grey color is to die for! For the shoes, we went with Adidas because, well, they’re just so “in” right now. We see them everywhere! And we love it. Last, we included a few of our favorite accessories.

Hope you enjoyed our back to school looks and you got a little inspiration for your wardrobe whether or not you're going back to school.

Back to School: Look 2

Aug. 27, 2015
Back to School Look 2

For our second back to school look, we kept it simple. You can never go wrong with skinnies, a cute blouse, and flats (we love these ones from Target). Finding a good bag is one of the harder things to shop for. Especially one that’s big enough to fit a laptop and/or notebooks. Madewell to the rescue! This gorgeous bag is the perfect size and it looks way more expensive than it actually costs (that’s always a good thing, right?!). And of course, you have to top off your look with great accessories—hello, gold sparkle phone case, bright floral journal, and the oh-so-necessary cute coffee mug!

Fresh Look for Back to School

Aug. 25, 2015
Back to School 1

It’s that time of year again! Back to school, that is. Remember how fun it was to go shopping for new clothes and school supplies? Seriously, the BEST. That’s just another reason we love fall—it always feels like a fresh start, even into adulthood.

For some, school has already started. Others are getting ready to go back in September (are we really only a week away?!). And even if you’re not going back to school, there’s nothing wrong with freshening up your wardrobe. All week we’ll be bringing you our favorite looks and school/office supplies in honor of back to school.

5 Styles We’re Loving: Army Green Edition

Aug. 21, 2015
Army Green

With fall quickly approaching, we’re starting to see more earthy tones in the season’s clothing lines. We’re especially loving army green. Maybe it’s just us, but whether it’s a jacket or jeans, for some reason anytime we see this color mixed into someone’s outfit, it instantly looks cool. It’s no surprise that army green is dominating the fall lines—and we’re happy to see it.

The 7 For All Mankind jeans (pictured above on the left) are a classic, simple pair that would be a timeless style to add to your wardrobe. The mid rise waist and stretchiness makes them really comfortable (always a plus). They’re also really clean looking, so you can easily dress them up at night.

Pictured above in the middle are the Nico Mid Rise Super Skinny from Hudson (on sale for $62!). We’re loving the color—much darker than the army green you see from other denim lines. Maybe it’s because they’re not a true denim; they’re actually made of a polished sateen fabric. So if you’re looking for a pair to dress up, these are a good bet!

The third style pictured above is from Kut from the Kloth. First off, we have to say that we can’t get over how reasonably priced this brand is. This style is only $79! They’re a cute boyfriend fit with a trouser style. And we love the rolled up hem! All around good pair for all shapes and sizes.

Army Green 2

We’ve already written about this particular denim style from Paige, but couldn’t resist sharing this pine green-colored version with you. It’s amazing what a simple addition of zippers can do, right? Like they say, it’s all in the details.

Army Green 3

This last pair is also from Paige. We love a good crop, especially one that hugs the body from hips to ankles. These super soft and stretchy jeans are perfect for showing off your favorite pair of shoes.

We hope that you’ll be adding one of these styles to your favorites in our denim boutique.

Happy shopping!

How To Wear White Jeans After Labor Day

Aug. 18, 2015
White Jeans Fall

Remember when people used to say that wearing white jeans after Labor Day was a no-no? Well that notion is long gone. And thank the denim gods, because we love our white denim throughout the year.

Now, we’re almost certain we can all style white jeans in the spring and summer, but when it comes to transitioning into fall it gets a bit trickier. That’s why we wanted to share two of our favorite looks. You probably already have most of these items in your closet, which makes for an easy transition.

White Jeans Outfit 2

Jeans | Shirt | Pumps | Necklace

This look is one of our absolute favorites. It’s so elegant and classic. You could really wear this outfit anytime of year, but we love this look for fall, especially for work. A chambray shirt is another one of those closet staples that every woman must have. You can dress it up or down and it never goes out of style. Tuck it into your white flares, add some pumps, and throw on a statement necklace—instantly chic!

White Jeans Outfit 1

Jeans | Sweater | Boots | Earrings

This is our go-to outfit for fall. Really comfortable, warm, and super cute. You can never go wrong when pairing skinny jeans and booties. For fall (and winter for that matter), chunky sweaters are a must! We seriously live in them. Add some cute accessories to your outfit and you’re set.

Hope you enjoyed these looks. Let us know how you’re wearing white denim as we head into the fall!

The Future is Here: Jeans That Will Charge Your Phone

Aug. 14, 2015
#Hello Jeans

How many times have you been out and about and your phone battery dies? There’s nothing more frustrating! The worst part: It happens all the time. Well, we must be dreaming because this sounds too good to be true … a jean designed to charge your phone? We’re happy to say this is real life. Meet #Hello jeans. This new line from Joe’s Jeans includes 4 new styles that are designed to carry and charge your iPhone.

No, these jeans aren’t made of magic and no, you can’t just stick your phone in your pocket and voilà, phone charged. You actually have to buy a sleek battery charger designed by Joe’s for $49. The #Hello jeans have two specially designed pockets—one to hold the charger and another for your phone. It might seem like this could add too much bulkiness to your look, but it’s surprisingly {almost} unnoticeable and in our opinion, worth it.

4 Ways to Style Citizens of Humanity’s Corey Jeans

Aug. 11, 2015
Corey Jeans

Working with women’s jeans day in and day out is seriously a dream job. As a lover of fashion (and comfort!) there’s nothing better than helping women find jeans made for their unique shape. We’re constantly discovering new styles that we LOVE and want to share.

Our latest obsession here at Fitcode is Citizens of Humanity’s Corey boyfriend jean. The slouchy slim fit makes these our go-to weekend jeans. They’re made to be worn low on the hips and have a relaxed fit (they run large, so we recommend sizing down). We love their distressed and worn-in look. You can keep it casual or dress these jeans up.

Lately, we’ve seen these jeans on celebs and bloggers and we’re loving the different ways people are styling them. After browsing Pinterest and getting some serious outfit inspiration, we decided to put together four different looks.

Enjoy!

Denim Favorites from Our Fitcode Jeaniuses

Aug. 6, 2015
Cari and Katie 1

Picture left to right: Cari in 7 for All Mankind (similar) and Katie in Kut from the Kloth

Hello, denim lover and happy Thursday!

July has come and gone here at the Fitcode headquarters and with it, a lot of exciting happenings in our company. We’re ramping up our denim inventory, getting ready to launch exciting new features, and are ready to push our technology across more browsers than just Chrome!

But enough about all that, the real news is that Seattle has had—what I believe to be—the warmest, most beautiful summer in recent years and we’re all getting our fill of those wonderful rays! We celebrated last week by closing our laptops for a bit, grabbing our favorite jeans from the stock room, and heading out to the docks behind our building to take some pictures. It’s a tough job, but someone’s gotta do it!

Katie (Fitcode designer extraordinaire) and Cari (Fitcode jeanius) each grabbed their favorite two jeans and humored me as I art directed our way around the waterfront (not only are they smart, but patient, too!). Check out how great these two look.

Cari and Katie 2

Cari, on the left, is in 7 for all Mankind’s The Skinny in Vintage. She took advantage of the 100% cotton quality of these jeans and sized up for a more relaxed “boyfriend” feel. We love her laid-back style and could see her rocking these same jeans rolled up with a little wedge for date night!

Katie, on the right, went with Kut from the Kloth’s Diana Relaxed Skinny in Grey. She found these perfect skinnies during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and loves the soft knit fabric on the inside of these jeans. They may look like your average skinny jean, but they are actually soft enough to curl up and watch a movie in!

Cari and Katie 3

Next up, we have our fabulous Katie wearing the Leann Boyfriend from NYDJ in the Lake Arrowhead wash (left) and Cari in the ever-so-popular Edgemont from Paige in the Armstrong wash.

Cari and Katie 4

We love the zipper details on the Edgmont. The zippers are not functional but their placement flatters hips of all shapes and adds a bit of street style without going full-on motorcycle chic.

Cari and Katie 5

The Edgemont also features our favorite fabric from Paige, Transcend! The Transcend fabric is super soft and has a smoothing quality that hugs our curvy girls in all the right places.

Cari and Katie 6

Katie is seen here in the NYDJ Leann Boyfriend jean and we love the effortless way they flatter her curves but feel relaxed, too. The slight distressing on the legs and pockets add to the relaxed feel and you could dress this jean down by rolling the cuff and throwing on your favorite sneakers. But who would wear sneakers when you have bright yellow wedges? You’ve got diamonds on the soles of your shoes, Katie.

Cari and Katie 7

Big thanks to these two, my favorite models, for humoring me again during this photo shoot! Check back soon to see style updates in your denim boutique and other exciting features coming out this month!

Happy shopping,

Rian

Hello, Fall: New Denim Styles

Aug. 4, 2015
J Brand Fall 2015

                                               Pictured left to right: 1 | 2 | 3 | 4

We may be in the middle of a hot summer, but fall fashion has arrived! We’re so excited about all of the great new styles that are now in our denim boutique. Take a look at fall denim from J Brand and Citizens of Humanity.

We have a TON of new styles from J Brand. Flare jeans are definitely prominent in J Brand’s fall collection. The great thing about it is they have a variety of different kinds of flares to choose from—ranging from a subtle bootleg to a full-on ‘70s-style flare. We’re also loving the dark vintage washes.

Citizens Fall 2015

                                               Pictured left to right: 1 | 2 | 3 | 4

Citizens of Humanity killed it with their fall collection. There is literally something for everyone. The best way we can describe Citizens’ fall collection is clean, simple, and timeless. Lots of great retro washes, distressed looks, and slim-fit tapered styles. We’re really digging the boyfriend looks that they’ve incorporated into the line. And by boyfriend looks, we’re not talking boyfriend jeans. We mean loose-fitting and somehow still sophisticated jeans (see style #3 above).

We hope you’re loving the new fall collections as much as we are!

And just for fun, here’s a look at a few fall-inspired looks we’re totally feeling right now.
