Who couldn’t use a new pair of jeans? We’re excited to announce our first giveaway in partnership with Melissa Picken and Christina Hodnet. To kick things off, Melissa and Christina made this super cool video (also posted on our Instagram profile). If you’d like to enter, just follow these steps:
*This giveaway is now closed. Congrats to @MarlaMoore on winning a free pair of jeans!
Halloween is already a week away! It seems like every year we’re always scraping together a last-minute costume. If you find yourself in the same situation, we have a few denim-inspired costume ideas for you. Some of these items you might have in your closet and others you can get on the cheap. Here are a few of our favorite DIY Halloween costumes.
*Disclaimer: While these aren't mom jeans, stuff them a bit and people will get the idea. ;-)
Looking for a new pair of jeans but don’t want to spend $200? You’re not alone. Actually, we get a lot of requests from users asking for less expensive denim brands to choose from (we’re working on it). But in the meantime, we encourage you to filter results by price. You’d be surprised how many styles are on sale at any given time. We’re always finding great pairs of jeans on sale for under $100.
Here are three different styles from JOE’S Jeans—all under $90. Get ‘em before they sell out!
Unless you’re 5’9” or taller, shopping for jeans can be so frustrating when trying to find the right length. Don’t you hate it when you finally find a pair of jeans that fit you perfectly everywhere except they’re just too long? Then you have to take them to the seamstress and wait a week or two until they’re altered to fit your height.
Luckily, brands are starting to pay attention to this pain point and have introduced denim lines targeted to women of average height. 7 For All Mankind has their Tailorless line and J Brand has released styles with shorter inseams. The Los Angeles Times recently wrote a piece on this trend and I was happy to share my two cents. Check out the article and let me know what you think!
Big things are happening at Fitcode HQ! We recently announced our Series A funding and we’re working hard to give you an even better online shopping experience. Over the past few months we’ve received a lot of great feedback from our awesome users and we’re looking forward to answering some of those requests.
Here are just a few things we’re currently working on.
Plus Size Options
Adding plus size options has been one of the most popular requests we’ve received. Our goal has always been to help women of all shapes and sizes find jeans that are perfect for their body type. We’re excited to announce that we’ll be adding the following plus size brands: Levi’s, Kut from the Kloth, and NYDJ!
Denim Under $100
Not everyone wants to pay for premium denim—and we totally get it. Many people have reached out asking for denim options under $100. In addition to Kut from the Kloth (currently available on Fitcode), we’re working on adding Levi’s to our denim boutique. Are there other brands you’d like us to add? Drop us a line and share your recommendation with us.
One of the Fitcode features we’ve always been really proud of is our videos. For most denim styles, we’ll show you a video of a model with a similar body type wearing a particular style. This gives you a better idea of what the jeans will look like on you. More videos will be coming your way! We’re continuing to hire more models in more sizes and plan on filming new styles and brands of jeans.
Is there anything else you’d like to see on Fitcode? We love hearing from you and encourage you to share your feedback with us!
It’s getting cooler outside, which means it’s time to break out your warm clothes. Lately, we've been living in jeans, booties, and a cute jacket. If you’ve done any shopping recently for jackets, you’ve probably noticed that moto and bomber jackets are dominating right now. Adding one of these jackets to your outfit will instantly give you a street style chic look.
Want to get in on this trend? We’ve pulled together a handful of options for you, ranging in prices. So whether you’re willing to splurge or you’re going for something a bit cheaper, there’s something for everyone in the above options.
We love Nordstrom (who doesn’t?) for so many reasons, but we have to say the one reason at the top of our list is their sales. They started price matching other retailers that are offering lower prices on items and they always have sweet deals on denim.
The Fitcode team is always on the prowl for a good denim deal and when we saw the recent marked-down items at Nordstrom, we had to share with you. Of course, there are tons of steals, but we thought we’d share our favorite flares. After all, flares are the hot trend right now and if you haven’t jumped on the bandwagon, why not do it now with a discounted pair?
The Skyline Boot from Paige is a bootcut jean, so they obviously don’t have that full-blown ‘70s flare look. This is great if you’re just easing into the trend. They’re subtle, classic, and super comfortable. They’re made with Paige’s Transcend fabric, which is really soft and stretchy.
Here’s some inspiration from fashion blogger Courtney Trop.
Another favorite of ours is the Tailorless “A” Pocket Flare from 7 For All Mankind. This style is especially great for all of our shorter gals out there. It’s often hard to find jeans that are the perfect length (especially flares), if you need a short inseam. These are your pair! 7’s Tailorless line is geared toward women of average heights. We also love the classic “A” embroidery design on the back pockets.
Here’s a pic from 7FAM promoting their Tailorless line.
The Mia Mid Rise Flare from Hudson Jeans is also on sale right now. Disclaimer: We don’t have these on Fitcode (yet!), but they were just too good not to share. We love the vintage wash and slight distressed look of these jeans. They have a bit of a longer inseam, so if you’re on the shorter side, keep in mind that you may have to get these altered.
We think Jane from FitFabFun Mom styled these jeans perfectly.
Hope you’re all having a great weekend! Happy shopping!
